Exceptions to Bid and Required Stated Information City of South Bend New Positive Displacement Hydro -Excavating Machine with Tandem Axle Cab and Chassis • Chassis o CA will be 173". This will make truck more maneuverable than requested 181" CA. • Debris Body o Useable capacity is 7.8 cubic yards. Volumetric is 9.0 cubic yards. 0 52" to bottom of decant drain opening. o Pipe storage provided for 5 pipes. Boom employs "Dig -Deep" design that allows boom to drop below horizontal. Allowing a 10' hole to be dug, below ground level, with one (1) 6' tube. • Blower Drive o Blower is driven hydrostatically via Rear Engine PTO (REPTO). This allows blower to switch from being able to create 18" Hg of vacuum in the debris tank, to 5 psi of pressure. This can be done with a simple dial at the operator's station. Not requiring the transmission to be put into reverse to create positive pressure. This may be utilized to clear a blockage from the boom with a large thrust of air from the debris body. This also allows the truck to operate in neutral because there is no transfer case. The possibility of doing damage to the vacuum pump and/or driveline is almost eliminated. Blower may be engaged/disengaged at any engine RPM. • Vacuum System Pick Up Hose o For operator safety, the vacuum can be shut off 3 different ways. 1) return dial for vacuum pump to zero (0). 2) Use vacuum breaker via the remote or control panel and vacuum will no longer be achieved at the end of debris hose. 3) E-stop on the remote or at the operator's station will instantaneously shut down the entire truck. o Boom reach from center of truck is 20' 9" with a raised height of 23' S". • High Pressure Water Pump o Oil to air heat exchanger provided with thermostat -controlled cooling fan. • Handgun Manhole Cleaning System o Handgun/Washdown gun provided with system relief set at 2500 psi. Operator has control to vary pressure/flow from zero to full output of pump. • Hydraulic System o 55 Gallon capacity
