.~ <br />PERFORMING ARTS CENTER <br />July 3, 2003 <br />Ms. Kazen White <br />President, South Bend Common Council <br />435 County-City Building <br />South Bend, IN 46601 <br />Re: Morris Performing Arts Center Capital Improvement Appropriations Ordinance <br />Dear Ms. White, <br />I attach for filing with the South Bend Common Council an Ordinance requesting an appropriation <br />of $42,000 from the Morris Performing Arts Center Improvement Fund <br />(Fund 416). Revenues from this fund are generated by a ticket surchazge and the fund is used <br />exclusively for facility capital improvements such as renovation, remodeling, repairs and <br />equipment purchases. <br />The improvements for which the Morris Performing Arts Center now desires the appropriation <br />from Fund 416 consist of the following: <br />$12,500 Box Office Computers: Four new desktop computers and one server <br />to replace outdated equipment. Items are needed in order to operate <br />current upgraded ticketing software. <br />$10,000 Frequency Drive: Replacement of the computer board frequency <br />drive that handles the air distribution system for the Morris complex. <br />$ 8,000 Concrete Curb Repair/Adjustment: The concrete curbs at the <br />Morris' stage loading docks must be adjusted to properly <br />accommodate production event/artist tour buses and trucks. <br />$ 5,000 Painting: InfilUcoloring of the Morris Performing Arts Center's <br />lettering in the precast concrete panels located at the top rear of the <br />building facing Main Street to improve the signage and help market <br />the facility to the vehicular traffic traveling south on the roadway. <br />Morris Performing Arts Center • 21 I N.
