;,. ... <br />... <br />".ti.'ti t~~' t..". . <br />...... <br />.:. <br />.... , .. . <br />PARC Committee <br />~Q~7 outfit 8~~~ Gomo~ ounci~ <br />The January 2, X007' meeting of the PARC Committee of the youth Bend Con~r~on <br />Council eras called to order by its Chairperson Council Member Ann Puzzello at <br />p,m. in the Council's Informal Meeting Room. <br />Persons in attendance included Council Members I~upa, Kelly, Dieter, Varner, Rouse, <br />I~irsits,lllf bite and Puzzello; Mayor Stephen J, Luecke, Martha Leuvis, City Clerk John <br />Voorde, City Controller M. Catherine I=anello, Mattheuu Moyers, Bill Carlton, Mark ~. <br />Tulohinsi'cy, Sue I~Cesin~, Janie Loo of the ouch Beni ~r~b~r~e and Kathleen Cekanski- <br />~'arrand, Council Attorney. <br />Council Member Puzzello noted that the Committee consisted of Council Metiers <br />Dieter, uspa, I~Cirits and herself. She then introduced Mr* Mark D. Tulchinsky, vtirha <br />she has selected to be the citizen rner~ber of the Cor~mitte. Mr~ Tulchinsky is the <br />Principal of Monroe and v~ill act in an ex-officio capacity today since he has not been <br />officially s~rorn in as a citizen r~er~ber. <br />Bill N~. ~~~4G~ Pro oeed A ro rie~~on ~~ ~ ~8 ~~ for the Par~C a~~ <br />Reoreat~on ~~nd # ~0~ for the Creenho~se <br />Council Member Puzzello called for a faunal presentation on Bill No. 9~-0~. <br />City Controller M. Catherine i~aneilo rude the farrr~al presentation, She noted that the <br />proposed ordinance sets far the casts for personnel and supplies ~rhich are needed to <br />run the greenhouse far X007. Personnel r~auld corner the cast of a full-time hourly <br />individual Frith benefits and the supplies vuauld include office items with services <br />covering utilities, electricity, etc. <br />In response to a question from Dr. Varner, Mr. Carlton noted that repairs to the <br />greenhouse are ongoing and that those that have and vuill be made vuill make the facility <br />rore efficient. Stopgap reasures to the rout have been addressed. <br />Sue I~Cesim of 402 Kennedy spoke in favor of the Bill. <br />Mayor Lucke noted that the greenhouse had not been included in the budget last fall. <br />VI~'ith the support of the Bontanical Society of South Bend, the increase in zoo admission <br />of ~ v~hich vuas authorized by the Park Board, and other grant funding measures, top- <br />gap reasurs have been under taken. More r~rork needs to be done, but much <br />progress has been made to keep the greenhouse aperationalt <br />i'Va one from the public spoke in opposition to the Bill, <br />
