•CITYOFSOUTHBEND OFFICE OF THE CLERK <br /> of that insurance continues to increase because of what has happened and the increasing risk of <br /> floods. <br /> Committee Chair White then opened the floor to members of the pubic wishing to speak in favor <br /> of or in opposition to the legislation. <br /> Murray Miller, 23690 Western Avenue, South Bend, IN, asked if the $500,000 of paving was <br /> going to be bid out. Mr. Horvath confirmed that it would be bid out because the City paving crew <br /> has a threshold of how much they can do every season. <br /> Committeemember Niezgodski made a motion to send Bill No. 08-20 to the full Council with a <br /> favorable recommendation. Committeemember Teshka seconded the motion which carried by <br /> voice vote of four(4) ayes. <br /> Bill No. 09-20- Amendment to Ordinance No. 10685-19, Non-Bargaining Salary Ordinance <br /> Dan Parker, City Controller for the City of South Bend with offices located on the 12th floor of the <br /> County-City Building, South Bend, IN, served as the presenter for this bill. Mr. Parker gave a <br /> presentation referencing a PowerPoint presentation(which is available in the City Clerk's Office) <br /> that highlighted the key elements of this bill as well as information coming for future changes. <br /> Committee Chair White opened the floor to questions and comments from Committee and Council <br /> Members. <br /> Committeemember Teshka inquired about the job qualifications for the new position. <br /> Michael Patton, Diversity and Inclusion Officer for the City of South Bend with offices located on <br /> the 14th floor of the County-City Building, South Bend, IN,replied that the City is looking forward <br /> someone with a background in detail, that is very organized, has a four (4) year degree, and can <br /> handle numbers and figures. <br /> Kyra Clark, Director of Human Resources for the City of South Bend with offices located on the <br /> 12th floor of the County-City Building, South Bend, IN, stated the job description is part of the <br /> packet. She highlighted the main points of that job description. <br /> Committee Chair White then opened the floor to members of the pubic wishing to speak in favor <br /> of or in opposition to the legislation. There were none. <br /> Committeemember Rachel Tomas Morgan made a motion to send Bill No. 09-20 to the full Council <br /> with a favorable recommendation.
