South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting -March 28, 2008
6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.)
D. Airport Economic Development Area
(1) continued...
$20,000. Mr. Blake seconded the motion.
The motion carried on a vote of three to one
with Mr. Peczkowski opposed.
(2) Commission approval requested for
proposal for professional services in the
Airport Economic Development Area.
(Consulting services, LaSalle Square Area
Redevelopment Plan)
Mr. Vitton noted staff developed and
distributed a Request for Proposals (RFP) for
consulting services for the LaSalle Square
area redevelopment plan. The RFP was
posted on the city's Web site and a letter
offering the RFP was sent to twenty-five
firms within a day's drive of South Bend.
Responses to the RFP were due March 10.
Twenty-two proposals were received.
A Steering Committee and staff reviewed the
proposals over three meetings and selected
ZPD+A and the Center for Neighborhood
Technologies for planning services. The
proposed fee is $50,000 plus reimbursable
expenses. A cap on reimbursables has not
been negotiated, so the Contract is not ready
to be signed. The Commission has seen the
draft contract/form of contract. Staff
recommends accepting the proposal of
ZPD+A and the Center for Neighborhood
Technologies and authorizing execution of
the contract by legal counsel or the
Redevelopment Director when it is final.
22
