Department of Economic Development
Division of Planning and Neighborhood Development
235-9449
MEMORANDUM
To: Steve Luecke, President
South Bend Common Council
From: Larry Magliozzi, Assistant Director %
Division of Planning and Neighborhood Deve' opment
Subject: Annexation Ordinances :
Bill # ' s 110-92, 111-92, 112-92, 113-92, 114-92
Date: December 22 , 1992
Please accept this Memorandum as a formal request to continue the
December 28, 1992 public hearing on the above referenced Bills .
The Bills may be continued to the January 25, 1993 Council
meeting. Due to the holidays, the scheduling for the hearing of
the fiscal plans before the Board of Public Safety and the Board
of Water Commissioners had to be delayed to their January
meetings .
As mentioned by you, the Council meeting of January 25th is also
the scheduled presentation before the Council of the Mayor' s
State of the City address . The Mayor is aware of the annexation
scheduling, and has indicated that he does not have a conflict
with both the annexation ordinances and the State of The City
being on the same meeting. Jon Hunt has also been made aware of
the situation and has indicated approval.
Although the ordinances represent five separate annexations,
there has been no indication of remonstrance on the part of the
five property owners . The ordinances represent five of the six
"islands" of unincorporated land that are totally surrounded by
the City.
Please call if you have any questions . I will be on vacation
from December 23rd through January 3rd.
