BILL NO. <br /> ORDINANCE NO. g3450 - 93 <br /> AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $43, 000.00 RECEIVED FROM THE <br /> U. S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENTS'S <br /> EMERGENCY SHELTER GRANTS PROGRAM <br /> STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: <br /> In order to deliver services to homeless individuals <br /> within our community the City of South Bend received funds from the <br /> U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the delivery of <br /> such services through various subgrantees. The funds appropriated in <br /> this ordinance will aid in defraying the costs of shelter operation <br /> and maintenance and in providing essential services and assistance in <br /> homeless prevention. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of <br /> the City of South Bend, Indiana: <br /> Section I. The sum of $43, 000.00 is hereby appropriated <br /> and allocated among accounts as set forth below: <br /> PROJECT NUMBER DESCRIPTION AMOUNT <br /> ES 93-1 Center for the Homeless, Inc $25,200 <br /> ES 93-2 St. Joseph County AIDS Task Force 5, 600 <br /> ES 93-3 Youth Service Bureau of 10,200 <br /> St. Joseph County <br /> Administrative Costs 2, 000 <br /> Total: $43, 000 <br /> Section II. No costs will be incurred or funds expended <br /> for any of the programs addressed in this ordinance prior to <br /> completion and subsequent certification of the Environmental Review <br /> Process specified in Title Twenty-four (24) Part Fifty-Eight (58) of <br /> the Code of Federal Regulations, containing the Environmental Review <br /> Procedures for the Emergency Shelter Grants Program, and the receipt <br /> of an official release of funds from the U.S. Department of Housing <br /> and Urban Development. <br /> Section III.
