South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Special Meeting - November 09, 2000
6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.)
a. continued...
of the Commission members holds a distributors
liquor permit. There are very specific laws as to
a distributor's ability to hold permits. Even
though the Commission member is not actively
involved in the sale of liquor at the Morris
Performing Arts Center or at Blackthorn Golf
Course, the law is such that it creates a conflict
and it would be illegal for the Commission to
hold the permit, having as one of its members,
someone who holds a distributors permit.
Ms. DeRose explained that another entity has
been located that is willing to hold the permits
and that the Redevelopment Commission will
need to approve the transfer of the permit for the
Blackthorn Golf Course to the Redevelopment
Authority and to amend the application for the
Morris Performing Arts Center liquor permit, so
that it would also be held by the Redevelopment
Authority.
Ms. DeRose stated that Resolution No. 1805 is to
transfer the Blackthorn liquor permit to the
Redevelopment Authority.
Upon a motion by Mr. Kahn, seconded by
Ms. Jones and unanimously carried, the
Commission approved Resolution No. 1805
consenting to the transfer of the Blackthorn
liquor permit.
COMMISSION APPROVED RESOLUTION NO. 1805
CONSENTING TO THE TRANSFER OF THE
BLACKTHORN LIQUOR PERMIT
b. Commission approval requested for
Resolution No. 1806 amending the pending
Liquor Permit Application.
Ms. DeRose stated that the Commission does not
own the liquor permit for the Morris Performing
-2-
