COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE January 22, 2007 <br />Purpose: Interview Marcia Janes -applicant for re-appointment to the South <br />Bend <br />Redevelopment Commission <br />Attendance: Councilmembers Rouse, Dieter, Pfeifer, Kelly, Puzze~lo, Varner, <br />Kuspa, White and Kirsits <br />Chairperson Karen White opened the meeting at 5.50 p.m., stating tie p~ rpase of <br />the meeting and then asked Marcia Jones to explain her reason for wanting re- <br />appointment. Marcia said she wanted to help newly appointed Redevelopment <br />Director Jeff Gibney. She said she enjoyed her past service on the Commission <br />which she regards as a good board, diverse in talents and uniformly dedicated to <br />their role in ecanamic development. She described the good rapport the board has <br />with the staff and suggested a desire for a more acfiive relationship with the City <br />Council. Chairperson White and Counci~mernber Pfeifer encouraged mare dialogue <br />with the Commission as well. David Varner asked when minutes of Commission <br />meetings held on the 1ST and 3~d Fridays of each month are available. <br />Councilmem er Pfeifer asked if consideration had been given by the Commission to <br />change the meeting time, perhaps a [owing more public par icipatian. Marcia said <br />while not presently under review, in that she is mindful of representing Council views, <br />would see that tote matter ~s discussed.
