South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting - May 19, 2000 <br />public hearing for 10:00 a.m., on June 16, <br />2000. <br />E Commission approval requested for <br />Resolution No. 1759 approving an <br />application for real property tax <br />deduction for property at 5681 West <br />Cleveland Road in the Airport <br />Economic Development Area. (REW <br />LLC (Corporate Services, Inc.)) <br />Cassandra Moran presented the following <br />the staff to the Commission for its <br />consideration. <br />REW LLC (Corporate Services, Inc.) <br />Intends to build a 71,500 sf building. <br />Corporate Services, Inc., which performs <br />marketing services including printing, <br />packaging, assembly, warehousing, and <br />distribution is the lessee. The addition <br />will allow the company to add production <br />and improve overall efficiency. The cost <br />of the building project is approximately <br />$2.2 million. <br />Per the petition, it is estimated that this <br />project will create 15 -20 new, permanent, <br />full -time jobs within the first year, <br />representing a new annual payroll of <br />$400,000 and will maintain 135 existing, <br />permanent, full -time and 17 part-time <br />jobs representing an annual payroll of <br />$4,500,000. <br />A review of the tax abatements <br />previously granted, finds that the REW <br />LLC (Corporate Services, Inc.) has been <br />granted four previous tax abatements. <br />-11- <br />
