NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />d. continued... <br />Curtis Products, Inc. provides <br />fabricated tube assemblies for <br />Original Equipment Manufacturers <br />engaged primarily in agricultural and <br />automotive industries throughout the <br />United States. Presently, the <br />company plans to add major pieces of <br />equipment: (1) Electric Tube <br />Bending for the Ford Bed Extender <br />Project; (2) Hautau C30 Single -End <br />Tube Finishing machine, for an <br />estimated cost of $310,000. These <br />capital improvements will allow the <br />company to meet new production <br />requirements and to achieve future <br />growth and maintain its existing <br />quality. <br />Per the petition, it is estimated that <br />this project will create nine, new <br />permanent jobs within the first year, <br />representing a new annual payroll of <br />$177,840 and will maintain 226 <br />existing, permanent, full -time jobs <br />and part-time jobs representing an <br />annual payroll of $4,224,000. <br />A review of the tax abatements <br />previously granted, finds that Curtis <br />Products, Inc. has been granted two <br />previous tax abatements. <br />The building commissioner has <br />reviewed the petition and finds the <br />property to be properly zoned for the <br />proposed project. <br />IRE <br />
