South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting - January 21, 2000 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />s. continued... <br />Mrs. Kolata stated that MFB Financial <br />proposed to construct a 48 sf sign on the <br />north elevation of its building. The sign <br />exceeds the 45 sf requirement set by the <br />Design Review Ordinance for the South <br />Bend Central Development Area. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Donoho, seconded COMMISSION APPROVED THE 48 SF SIGN IN <br />by Ms. Jones and unanimously carried, the CONNECTION WITH THE PROPERTY WITHIN ONE <br />Commission approved the 48 sf Sign in MICHIANA SQUARE IN THE SOUTH BEND CENTRAL <br />connection with the property within DEVELOPMENT AREA. (MFB FINANCIAL) <br />Michiana Square in the South Bend <br />Central Development Area. (MFB <br />Financial) <br />7. PROGRESS REPORTS <br />Mrs. Kolata reported that the Portage Steering <br />Committee had its first meeting on <br />Wednesday, January 19, 2000. The next <br />applications for Commercial Corridor funds <br />are due March 1, 2000. <br />She also reported that the City was awarded a <br />Grant from EPA to conduct a brownfields <br />study on the Commercial Corridors, and we <br />have asked for proposals from a number of <br />environmental firms. The proposals are due <br />January 21, 2000. <br />Mrs. Kolata reported that representatives for <br />the Steering Committee studying the <br />Studebaker Corridor and Oliver Plows Works <br />have finished their work. Copies of the report <br />will be sent to the Commission. <br />-20- <br />
