South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting - December 3, 1999
6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.)
a. continued...
Mr. Lambert has already begun working
with the contractor and with the
appropriate governmental officials along
with utility company representatives to
develop a plan for the building
preparation, the acutal moving process
and the sales operation of the business.
We anticipate a six -month timetable to
complete all of these steps. We are very
much aware of the urgency connected with
vacating the building that currently houses
the Studebaker parts inventory. As you
well know, that site is needed for
completion of the St. Joseph County Jail,
so we need to move effectively and
efficiently as soon as possible.
A check representing ten percent of the
total lease price has been included with
this bid proposal.
Upon a motion by Mr. Donoho, seconded
by Ms. Jones and unanimously carried, the
Commission rejected the bid submitted by
Dennis Lambert Sr. and directed the staff
to work with Mr. Lambert regarding
Studebaker Building #92 in the Sample -
Ewing Development Area.
