8
Thank you

On Wed, Jun 17, 2020 at 2:03 PM Elicia Feasel <efeasel@southbendin.gov> wrote:
Greetings –

I have confirmed on the map of South Bend Historic Properties that 1520 Ottawa Court is located in the Lincoln Way
East Local Historic District. Please refer to the Lincoln Way East Standards when planning projects on a historic
designated property. To obtain approval on proposed projects at the property, please complete a Certificate of
Appropriateness application and checklist on page 3. The application and supplemental documents can be emailed
but the $20 payment can be mailed to HPC, County – City Building, 227 W Jefferson Blvd, Suite 1400S, South Bend, IN
46601 or hand delivered to the Building Department at 125 S Lafayette Blvd in an envelope labeled with HPC and the
property address. HPC preservation specialist and/or site inspector, both who are copied on this reply, are available
by appointment to meet with you on site if needed.

The property is rated non‐contributing in the DNRs Historic Sites and Structures Inventory. Minor projects that
comply with the Standards can usually issued by staff quickly as an Administrative Approval. If a project is major or
doesn’t comply with the Standards, a public hearing before the Historic Preservation Commission may be necessary.
From what you’ve described, and depending on the specifics, this project will likely be eligible for Administrative
Approval.

Please note that may links are embedded in this reply. Don’t hesitate to reach back out with questions.

Thank you,

Elicia

Elicia Feasel
Historic Preservation Administrator
Department of Community Investment
(574) 235‐7672
efeasel@southbendin.gov
City of South Bend
227 W.
