South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Rescheduled Regular Meeting - August 13, 1999 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />L continued... <br />When Redevelopment purchased the land, <br />which is now known as the U.S. 31 <br />Industrial Park, from Dale Park, he also <br />wanted the City to purchase the remaining <br />18.35 acres of land on the west side of the <br />Bypass. At that time, the 18.35 acres were <br />not annexed into the City. Mr. Park was <br />informed that if he annexed the land into <br />the City, then the Commission would <br />purchase the property. Mr. Park has <br />annexed the 18.35 acres into the City and <br />Redevelopment sent the purchase offer. <br />Mr. Park responded with a counter offer in <br />the amount of $110,000 ($6,000 an acre). <br />Mrs. Kolata stated that the land would be <br />for residential use. <br />The staff recommends accepting the <br />counter offer. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Faccenda, seconded <br />by Mr. Donoho and unanimously carried, <br />the Commission accepted the counter offer <br />from Dale Park in the amount of $110,000 <br />for purchase of the 18.35 acres of land on <br />the west side of the Bypass in the Airport <br />Economic Development Area. <br />7. PROGRESS REPORTS <br />Mrs. Kolata reported that Shafer Gear expects <br />to be completely moved into its new facility <br />by the end of August 1999.
