NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />b. continued... <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Faccenda, <br />seconded by Mr. Blake and carried, the <br />Commission adopted Resolution No. <br />1676 approving an application for real <br />property tax deduction for property at <br />234 South Chapin Street in the West <br />Washington- Chapin Development Area. <br />(South Bend Heritage Foundation) Ms. <br />Schwartz voted against the resolution. <br />c. Commission approval requested for <br />Resolution No. 1677 approving an <br />application for real property tax <br />deduction for property at 301 <br />LaPorte Avenue and 1041, 1043 and <br />1047 LaSalle Connector in the West <br />Washington- Chapin Development <br />Area. (Housing Development <br />Corporation) <br />The Housing Development Corporation <br />of St. Joseph County plans to have four <br />new homes constructed with complete <br />mobility handicap features and <br />amenities. These 1,100 sq ft bungalow <br />style homes will have 3 bedrooms with <br />one bath and will be furnished with all <br />appliances. The homes will be sold to <br />low -to- moderate income families <br />purchasing their first home. They will <br />have the option of leasing the homes up <br />to 3 years. The tax abatement is crucial <br />in providing affordable housing.
