Staff report on acquisition /disposition of <br />property in the South Bend Central <br />Development Area. <br />Mrs. Kolata stated that a counter proposal <br />was received from SSP Properties in <br />response to the purchase offer <br />Redevelopment sent for the lot at Monroe <br />and Lafayette, adjacent to the Studebaker <br />Museum. The counter proposal also <br />includes an offer to purchase part of the <br />Dreisbach site. <br />It was Redevelopment's intention to <br />purchase the lot located at Monroe and <br />Studebaker Streets for the Studebaker <br />Museum. However, unbeknownst to the <br />Division of Redevelopment, SSP Properties <br />purchased the lot and secured a lease with <br />the General Services Administration to <br />locate a new Social Security Office on that <br />site. Redevelopment decided to purchase <br />the property before the Social Security <br />building was constructed. There have been <br />a series of negotiations between SSP <br />Properties, the General Services <br />Administration and the Division of <br />Redevelopment concerning this situation <br />and we have now come to an agreement that <br />is being presented today. <br />The agreement calls for SSP Properties to <br />-25- <br />
