TAILBOARD <br />The entire tailboard shall be constructed of grating with the scalloped top, supported by a <br />structural steel assembly. SSW <br />The side and rear edges shall have an aluminum diamond plate trim piece installed. <br />The rear tailboard shall be 18.00" deep. <br />Entire rear surface between the beavertails shall be covered with smooth aluminum. &NO <br />Inside surface of each beavertail in the hose bed area shall be covered with polished stainles, <br />steel to protect the paint finish. <br />The remaining inside surface of the beavertails shall be covered with bright aluminum <br />treadplate. <br />REAR WALL, SMOOTH ALUMINUM/BODY MATERIAL <br />The rear facing surfaces of the center rear wall shall be smooth alum inum. <br />The rear facing surfaces of the bulkheads, the surface to the rearof the side body <br />compartments, shall be smooth and the same material as the body. <br />TOW EYE <br />Eyes two rear, two eyes under the body attached to the frame. <br />Tow eye shall be constructed of .38" structural angle. When force is applied to the bar, it <br />COMPARTMENTATION <br />Body and compartments shall be fabricated of 3/16", 6061 aluminum extrusions or 1/8" bent <br />and formed. <br />Side compartments shall be an integral assembly with the rear fenders. <br />Circular fender liners shall be provided for prevention of rust pockets and ease of <br />maintenance. <br />Compartment flooring shall be of the sweep out design with the floor higher than the <br />compartment door lip. <br />The compartment door opening shall be framed by flanging the edges in 1.75" andbending <br />out again .75" to form an angle. <br />Drip protection shall be provided above the doors by means of bright aluminum extrusion, <br />formed bright aluminum treadplate or polished stainless steel. <br />The top of the compartment shall be covered with bright aluminum treadplate rolled over the <br />edges on the front, rear and outward side. These covers shall have the comers welded. <br />Side compartment covers shall be separate from the compartment tops. <br />Front facing compartment walls shall be covered with bright aluminum treadplate. <br />All screws and bolts which protrude into a compartment shall have acorn nuts on the ends to <br />prevent injury. <br />All roll up doors shall have a gutter with drain to protect contents from water. <br />UNDERBODY SUPPORT SYSTEM <br />Due to the severe loading requirements of this pumper a method of body and compartment <br />
