The manufacturer shall operate a Quality Management System under the requirements of <br />ISO 9001. These standards sponsored by the International Organization for Standardization <br />(ISO) specify the quality systems that shall be established by the manufacturer for design, <br />manufacture, installation and service. A copy of the certificate of compliance shall be <br />included with the bid. <br />NFPA STANDARDS <br />This unit shall comply with the NFPA standards effective January 1, 2020, except for fire <br />department specifications that differ from NFPA specifications. These exceptions shall be <br />forth in the Statement of Exceptions. <br />Certification of slip resistance of all stepping, standing and walking surfaces shall be <br />supplied with delivery of the apparatus. <br />A plate that is highly visible to the driver while seated shall be provided. This plate shall <br />show the overall height, length, and gross vehicle weight rating. <br />The manufacturer shall have programs in place for training, proficiency testing and <br />performance for any staff involved with certifications. <br />An official of the company shall designate, in writing, who is qualified to witness and cert <br />test results. <br />NFPA COMPLIANCY <br />Apparatus proposed by the bidder shall meet the applicable requirements of the National Fin <br />Protection Association (NFPA) as stated in current edition at time of contract execution. Fin <br />department's specifications that differ from NFPA specifications shall be indicated in the <br />proposal as "non-NFPA". <br />VEHICLE INSPECTION PROGRAM CERTIFICATION <br />The apparatus shall be third -party, independent, audit -certified through Underwriters <br />Laboratory (UL) to the current edition of NFPA 1901 standards. The certification includes: <br />all design, production, operational, and performance testing of the apparatus. (no ex ception) <br />PUMP TEST <br />The pump shall be tested, approved, and certified by Underwriter's Laboratory at the <br />manufacturer's expense. The test results and the pump manufacturer's certification of <br />hydrostatic test; the engine manufacturer's certified brake horsepower curve; and the <br />manufacturer's record of pump construction details shall be forwarded to the Fire <br />Department. <br />GENERATOR TEST <br />If the unit has a generator, the generator shall be tested, approved, and certified by <br />Underwriters Laboratories at the manufacturer's expense. The test results shall be provided tc <br />the Fire Department at the time of delivery. <br />BREATHING AIR TEST <br />If the unit has breathing air, the apparatus manufacturer shall draw an air sample from the air <br />system and certify that the air quality meets the requirements of NFPA 1989, Standard on <br />Breathing Air Qualityfor Fire and Emergency Services Resp ira tory Pro tection. <br />AFTERMARKET SUPPORT WEBSITE <br />A Customer Service website shall provide authorized customers access to comprehensive <br />information pertaining to the maintenance and service of their customer's apparatus. This too <br />shall provide the authorized customer factory support at their fingertips. <br />12 <br />
