I . All battery cables and battery harnesses shall have a permanent label attached for <br />easy identification of the harness part number and fabrication date. <br />2. Splices shall not be allowed on battery cables or battery cable harnesses. <br />3. For ease of identification and simplified use, battery cables shall be color coded. All <br />positive battery cables shall be red in color or wrapped in red loom the entire length <br />of the cable. All negative battery cables shall be black in color. <br />4. For ease of identification, all positive battery cable isolated studs throughout the cab <br />and chassis shall be red in color. <br />5. For increased reliability and reduced maintenance, all electrical buss bars located on <br />the exterior of the apparatus shall be coated to prevent corrosion. <br />ELECTRICAL COMPONENT INSTALLATION <br />All lighting used on the apparatus shall be, at a minimum, a two (2) wire light grounded <br />through a wired connection to the battery system. Lights using an apparatus metal structure <br />for grounding shall not be allowed. <br />An operational test shall be conducted to ensure that any equipment that is permanently <br />attached to the electrical system is properly connected and in working order. The results of <br />the tests shall be recorded and provided to the purchaser at time of delivery. <br />;TEP LIGHTS <br />Four (4) white LED, step lights shall be provided. One (1) step light shall be provided on <br />each side, on the front compartment face and two (2) step lights at the rear to illuminate the <br />tailboard. <br />In order to ensure exceptional illumination, each light shall provide a minimum of 25 foot- <br />candles (fc) covering an entire 15" x 15" square placed ten (10) inches below the light and a <br />minimum of 1.5 fc covering an entire 30" x 30" square at the same ten (10) inch distance <br />below the light. <br />These step lights shall be actuated with the pump panel light switch. <br />All other steps on the apparatus shall be illuminated per the current edition of NFPA 1901. <br />TEAR FMVSS LIGHTING <br />The rear stop/tail and directional LED lighting shall consist of the following: <br />Two (2) Whelen Model M6BTT red LED stop/taillights. <br />Two (2) Whelen Model M6T amber LED arrowturn lights. <br />Each light shall be installed in a housing and include colored lenses. <br />Four (4) red reflectors shall be provided. <br />A license plate bracket shall be mounted on the driver's side above the warning lights. An <br />LED step lamp shall illuminate the license plate. <br />3ACKUP LIGHTS <br />There shall be two (2) Whelen, Model: M6BUW, LED backup lights provided in the tailligl <br />housing. <br />REAR ID/MARKERDOT LIGHTING <br />There shall be one (1) three (3) LED light kit used as identification lights located at the rear <br />of the apparatus per the following; <br />
