And again, the <br />Museum is the second, I believe, busiest <br />cultural institution in the downtown in <br />terms of tourism coming in. This project <br />supports the effort to drive for the <br />convention tourism and entertainment <br />concept of the downtown plan. The <br />Chamber of Commerce has been pushing <br />very, very hard on this. Dan Martin's <br />Economic Research Associates' report <br />also urged that we move on the <br />development of the new Museum. <br />Therefore, the staff is recommending to <br />you that we need to acquire this site <br />because we cannot pick up this building, <br />and it is not simply a small Museum that <br />you're moving to a quarter of a block <br />some place else. This all needs to work <br />together on this site. It needs to relate well <br />to those surrounding areas and use those <br />surrounding assets as those other facilities <br />will use the assets of the Museum. <br />ANN KOLATA: We want to make the <br />Studebaker Museum site plan, Exhibit E. <br />JON HUNT: It, again, is something that <br />after five years of very difficult <br />community debate, dialog and discussion <br />that all the stakeholders were lined up <br />behind the site.
