I believe that my familiarity with the <br />history of South Bend and historical resources available, my training and experience in the field of <br />architecture, and my personal commitment to historic houses make me uniquely qualified to serve in <br />this capacity. <br />As a part of my job, I write articles and lecture regularly, and over the last several years, topics have <br />included the history of a variety of local schools, theatres, churches, businesses, and residences. <br />Previous to my work at the library, I spent eight year; as an interior designer, working on every aspect of <br />commercial and residential projects. <br />My appreciation of historic structures has led me to find ways to be involved with them in both my <br />career and private life. The two years I spent managing Washington Hall, one of Notre Dame's core <br />campus buildings, taught me many lessons about integrating practicality with preservation. I have <br />renovated two historic houses, and I am currently the proud owner of an historic landmark in Edgewater <br />Place. <br />It is so fulfilling to serve the interests of our community and its rich heritage.
