r
South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting - November 21, 1997
6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.)
c. continued....
future building is some shoring around the
foundation of the former Barb's
Restaurant. The floor plate of the building
that I am working on is very small (22' x
66), so we don't think by leaving our
building where it is, underminds the
potential of the site. We also question
why this particular parcel of the full
quarter block, if it truly is being pursued
for acquisition, is the first one on the
docket. That is a question, specifically to
Redevelopment, that Mr. Moerlein and
Ms. Minker have.
Ms. Kolata explained that the appraisals
for the remaining properties that are
located within this quarter block have not
yet been received.
GREG KIL: The other question that we
have is, when we have asked, "What other
plans are there for the block... ? "; "Is there
a specific developer or specific owner that
is pursuing a detailed development plan to
develop the whole quarter block?", we
have gotten a negative response.
Mrs. Kolata answered that "Right now
there is no one pursuing that quarter block,
no specific party, individual or developer
is looking to develop this quarter block.
There are general inquiries on a regular
basis."
GREG KIL: Our concern is, if there is
someone, is there some middle ground for
ce H: HOME\CPHIPPS', WPDATA \COMMSN\ I 1 Z 197.MIN -9-
