a
•
e rIlkI
INDIANA I.ANM ARKS
Indiana Landmarks, the largest statewide not-for-profit preservation organization in the nation, provides
hands-on preservation help throughout the state via nine offices staffed with preservation professionals.
Our mission is to revitalize communities, reconnect to our heritage, and save meaningful places.
Founded in 1960, we have worked for nearly 60 years to save architecturally unique, historically
significant, and communally cherished properties. We rescue them, we rehabilitate them, and we give
them new purpose, saving our state's shared heritage and bringing revival to neighborhoods and
downtowns, rural historic districts and cities small to large.
We help people and organizations deliberately plan for the preservation of places that matter. When faced
with the need for crisis intervention, we take bold action on an emergency basis to save irreplaceable
historic structures. With more than 6,200 members as well as professional staff throughout Indiana, our
programs and field services are in high demand.
When necessary, Indiana takes on projects in partnership with like minded groups and individuals.
• Projects have included National Historic Landmarks like the West Baden Springs Hotel, to the Greyhound
bus station in Evansville and modest single-family homes in local historic districts. When necessary,
Indiana Landmarks has relocated and found new life for endangered historic properties like the South
Bend Remedy Building or Indiana Oxygen office in Indianapolis.
0
Find out more about Indiana Landmarks at www.indianalandmarks.ora
