Exterior electrical and telephone cables should not be attached to the street elevations of the building.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the re -roofing (as a routine maintenance exclusion). With
consideration and understanding of the Chapin Park Local Historic District Standards and Guidelines, staff would recommend
approval of the rear -facing solar panels. Staff is cognizant of the Recommendation that the Standards and Guidelines state that
solar collectors (or panels) "should be placed in the rear of the property," and would therefore recommend denial of any street -
facing panels.
Written by
Adam Toering
Deputy Director
Approved by
Elicia Feasel
Executive Director
Public Discussion:
Sheila McCarthy of 519 S St. Joseph Street, spoke in support of the project, specifically regarding
the minimal visibility of the proposed panels from the alley and the street.
