Proposal for Installation of Concrete Driveway at 336 W Navarre St, South Bend, IN 46616
Application for Certificate of Appropriateness to the Historic Preservation Commission of South Bend & St. Joseph County
Contractor. Castle Rock Concrete Inc.
Doug Dunnett
574-329-2388
Homeowner: Victor & Nancy Myers
Property Address: 336 W. Navarre St., South Bend, IN 46616-1365
Description of Project
The original driveway was a 14' alley. This alley was shared by the two adjoining properties. Some time ago a fence
was added right next to the property line, so that only 7 ft of the original driveway is accessible to our property. Also
due to lack of use since the year 2000, the driveway became lawn. In order for the gravel driveway to be usable, it
became necessary for it to be widened to ten feet, paved with concrete, and near the garage enlarged sufficiently to
allow for cars to back up and tum around.
The access to the street is also being redone so that it is consistent with South Bend street codes and standards
and moved sideways so that it is aligned with the new driveway. A portion of the concrete will be stamped to simulate
the look of the brick street. The concrete driveway and pad will be reinforced with wire mesh and poured to a standard
depth of at least 6".
The survey is shown below with the proposed changes.
