Specifier Notes: Factory -applied jamb extensions for 4 -9/16 -inch and 6 -9/16 -inch wall depths are <br />optional for vinyl sliding windows only. If not required or if specifying replacement frames, delete the <br />following paragraph. <br />C. Jamb Extensions: Factory -applied, primed -wood jamb extensions for [4 -9/16 -inch] [6 -9/16 - <br />inch] wall depth. <br />PART 3 EXECUTION <br />3.1 EXAMINATION <br />A. Examine areas to receive vinyl sliding windows. Notify Architect of conditions that would <br />adversely affect installation or subsequent use. Do not proceed with installation until <br />unsatisfactory conditions are corrected. <br />3.2 INSTALLATION <br />A. Install vinyl sliding windows in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. <br />B. Install vinyl sliding windows to be weather -tight and freely operating. <br />C. Maintain alignment with adjacent work. <br />D. Secure assembly to framed openings, plumb and square, without distortion. <br />Specifier Notes: The following paragraph applies to vinyl sliding windows installed using installation <br />fins only. If the windows are not being installed with installation fins, delete the following paragraph. <br />E. Integrate vinyl sliding window installation with exterior weather -resistant barrier using <br />flashing/sealant tape. Apply and integrate flashing/sealant tape with weather -resistant barrier <br />using watershed principles in accordance with window manufacturer's instructions. <br />F. Seal vinyl sliding windows to exterior wall cladding with sealant and related backing materials at <br />perimeter of assembly. <br />G. Place interior seal around vinyl window perimeter to maintain continuity of building thermal and <br />air barrier using [backer rod and sealant] [insulating -foam sealant]. <br />H. Leave vinyl sliding windows closed and locked. <br />Specifier Notes: Field testing is optional. Delete Field Quality Control if field testing is not required. If <br />Field Quality Control is deleted, delete AAMA 502 from Article 1.3 References in this section. <br />3.3 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL <br />A.
