Russell Stapp, <br />Architect, Whitcomb & Keller, builder <br />Property Owner: Stephen Camilleri & Erin Kennedy <br />Landmark or District Designation: East Wayne Street <br />Rating: Contributing <br />DESCRIPTION OF STRUCTURE/ SITE: This L -plan 2 -story frame house sided with wood shingles, <br />has a gable roof with asphalt shingles. Windows are 8/1 and 6/1 double -hung with wood trim and sills, <br />and ornamental louvered shutters on second floor windows. The house front features a central entry <br />canopy with gable roof and round arch under gable. There is a detached 2 -car frame garage with asphalt - <br />shingled gable roof, and clapboard siding. <br />ALTERATIONS: Aluminum storm windows and doors have been added. An enclosed east wing was <br />added to the house in 1937, and a 13'x19' rear addition in 1959. COA 2008-0716 and 2015-0624 both <br />approved complete tear -off and re -roof with asphalt shingles. <br />APPLICATION ITEMS: Kitchen remodel and second floor addition on the rear of the structure within <br />the footprint of a rear porch that was previously added. This porch is not original to the house. The <br />addition will include a new master bedroom and bath. Additionally, a new bath will be built in the <br />basement. See attached document for complete description. <br />DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED PROJECT: <br />The owners propose to add a second floor at the rear of house, over the existing, one-story non -original <br />back porch addition. The ridge of the new addition will align with the existing house ridge and will not <br />be visible from the street. The original house details will be used for the addition. On the first floor, a <br />mudroom will be added where the exterior porch currently is located. On the second Floor, a Master Suite <br />will be constructed over the back porch. Siding to be machine split, number one grade clear cedar <br />shingles by Edmund Allen, to match existing painted wood shingles; painted wood trim to match existing. <br />Windows will be Marvin Ultimate Magnum wood double hung windows with mullion, scale, and <br />simulated divided lites to match existing windows; trim to match existing. Proposed Velux FS deck - <br />mounted skylight to be added at southwest side of new gable to allow light to enter stair hall. Existing <br />exterior door will be reused. Architectural shingles on the new roof to match existing roof. NEW CONSTRUCTION <br />New construction includes any new building or structure constructed within the boundaries of the historic district, <br />or any new addition to an existing building.
