Elicia D. Feasel
Executive Director
Historic Preservation Commission
of South Bend & St. Joseph County
574/235.9798
>>> Bob Wolosin <rwolosin@gmail. com> 7/18/2017 3:46 PM >>>
Elicia --
Delightful speaking with -you just now.) hope you can help -in -the way you indicated. Attached please find
a redacted (no names, no exact addresses) compilation of the reports of basement floods in our District
stemming from the hard rain of July 3/4.
Here is your formal request:
As President of the East Wayne Street Local Historic District, I request that The Historic Preservation
Commission of South Bend & St. Joseph County use whatever resources deemed appropriate in
assisting residents of the East Wayne Street Local Historic District prevent future basement floods.
In particular, assistance with convincing the City of South Bend to assume responsibility for solving the
problem is requested. The document I have attached attests to the extent of the most recent incident,
which occurred the night of July 3, morning of July 4, 2017, and I think it fair to say that some of the
District's residents are frustrated by a lack of effective solutions on the City's part.
I would be happy to convene a meeting with your Commission and selected neighbors if you think that
would be useful.
Thank you for considering this request.
Robert Wolosin, President
East Wayne Historic District Association
