Indiana Bicentennial — Executive Director Feasel reported last major event, the <br />Bicentennial Birthday Bash, was held at Bendix Woods on October 8. Determined to be <br />a success. <br />3. Public Relations and Community Education — Chairman Parker circulated handout <br />summarizing public meeting of committee on October 12. Committee received <br />nominations from the community for five Southhold Preservation awards, reviewed <br />nominations, voted unanimously on selections, and recommended budget not to exceed <br />$500. <br />V. OLD BUSINESS - none <br />VI. NEW BUSINESS <br />A. INTERN RESOLUTION <br />1. Millie Latack - Commissioner Klusczinski sponsored resolution for summer intern <br />Millie Latack. Seconded by Commissioner Gordon. Five in favor, none opposed. <br />Vote 5 — 0. <br />B. CONTRACTUAL SERVICES <br />1. George Root - Commissioner Klusczinski moved to approve contracts in a one-time <br />amount of $1500 each for archive specialist, George Root, and preservation specialist <br />inspector, Millie Latack. Seconded by Commissioner Molnar. Five in favor, none <br />opposed. Vote 5 — 0. <br />VII. ANNOUNCEMENTS AND MISCELLANEOUS MATTERS <br />A. SOUTHHOLD PRESERVATION AWARDS/NORTHERN INDIANA <br />PRESERVATION AWARDS — Commissioner Molnar moved to approve Southhold <br />Preservation Award recommendations and adopt budget for the event as proposed by the Public <br />Relations and Community Education committee. Seconded by Commissioner Parker. Five in <br />favor. Vote 5 — 0. <br />B. Commissioner Klusczinski moved to authorize staff to investigate impact of Matthews <br />project on historic sites and structures and architectural examples in the vicinity, and to generate a <br />letter to Common Council reflecting that opinion, with a courtesy copy to the Area Plan <br />commission.
