With the elimination of the garage, we would like to add a storage shed in the northeast corner of the lot The last would be the eventual change of the back door that now leads directly to the alley and redirect this entrance to lead to the proposed patio area. This is done for 2 reasons Security for any child exiting the house and for the added security for the home For the House itself As the plan shows we would like to add a French door that would exit the rear of the house to a deck landing, which would then access the patio area. This would be exiting the home through the existing dining room. Also over the next 2-3 years we need to change all existing windows All of which are painted shut, weights and rollers are broken, mortise joints are pulled apart, some glass has been replaced by plexiglass, locks do not work due to the fact that the windows don't close properly, energy efficiency is terrible... need to use plastic. Again as an overview this project would take 3 years or so. My wife and I thought it best to show as a finished product as opposed to just asking permission to tear down the garage. Our main objective for this coming year would be the door to patio area and starting on window replacement, as well as taking down the garage.
