607 Leland <br />Description of Work <br />The proposed project entails the substantial interior and exterior renovation of the house <br />and re -landscaping of the lawn. The rear addition is to be removed and not replaced due <br />to its substantially deteriorated condition, The wholesale demolition of the house had <br />previously been approved. Specifically the work will include: <br />Cvdi • Demolish one story rear addition wing and associated foundation as noted on <br />attached aerial image - See Note "A". Backfill to finish grade. Salvage wood <br />siding for installation on what will become the new exterior rear wall.. Images <br />included of condition of the wing. See note "B". The small extension on the <br />northwest corner will remain. <br />The rear addition is substantially deteriorated and beyond any reasonable repair. <br />Indiana Landmarks estimates that 75% of the roof rafters, a 75% - 100% of the of <br />the sill plate, 100% of the floor joists and associated sub -floor require <br />replacement. Given the condition of the walls, we estimate that 40% of the wall <br />studs require either replacement. <br />"i'f' Install new double slab wood door with full lights containing no grills in existing <br />opening on what will become the west elevation. Install exterior trim and crown <br />to match that on the balance of the house. See note "C". <br />t{:r3• Install new solid wood exterior door in existing opening on the north end of the <br />new west elevation. Install exterior trim and crown to match that on the balance of <br />the house. <br />Mfr^ • Install new corner boards, freeze boards, crown and trim on new west elevation to <br />match that of the balance of the house. <br />t' = • Install salvaged wood clapboard siding on exterior of new west elevation. Utilize <br />new wood siding to match original to complete project if salvaged wood siding is <br />insufficient. <br />N;;r= - Repair in-kind damaged and missing clapboard and trim entire perimeter. <br />l=n • Repair deteriorated bottoms of front porch posts with mortise repair technique. <br />*� • Remove all scrub trees, overgrowth and vegetation as marked in white paint on <br />site and two overgrow /deteriorated trees in tree lawn. <br />- Grade rear and side yards level, groom and re -seed. <br />C!-7 - Replant two street trees in tree lawn species as approved by City Forrester. <br />r rr,- • Remove and replace concrete public and service walks in kind. <br />
