• 02/09/2016 6P: County Council (County -City Building; Chambers 4th Floor). <br />Represent the HPC regarding Salary Transfer "Bill 89-15." Commissioners <br />Hertel -Price, Parker and Voll in attendence along with Director Feasel and <br />Preservation Specialist Szaday. Council had no questions for HPC. This time Jim <br />Bonar spoke in favor of the salary transfer but alluded to changes in HPC budget <br />allocation for the next calandar year(?). Commissioner Parker also spoke in favor <br />of Bill 89-15. Council voted unanimously in favor of passage. Asked President <br />Morton if the motion reflected the Committee's recommendation to make the <br />salary transfer retroactive to the beginning of the year. President Morton indicated <br />in the affirmative. <br />02/16/2016 3P: Accompanied Director Elicia for meeting with Councilman Davis <br />(South Bend 4th District) to discuss City Cemetery, minimum maintenance <br />enforcement for designated properties, and misc. matters. Prior to the meeting we <br />had the opportunity to introduce ourselves to Kareemah Fowler — City Clerk. <br />Elicia updated Ms. Fowler on HPC events (Lou Sabo collection) and future <br />collaboration prospects. Ms. Fowler was receptive and made some of her own <br />suggestions for partnership. The City Clerk plans to visit the HPC in the near <br />future. Following our meeting with Councilman Davis, we were met by Council <br />President Scott who relayed activities involving Chapin Park and invited the HPC <br />to make a formal introduction to the Council (espe. for the benefit of the newest <br />Council representatives) in the near future. Topics would include an overview of <br />designated properties and districts, HPC history and government structure. <br />• 02/18/2016: Telephone conversation with Elicia Feasel regarding change order <br />for Stellar Communites' project. Facade Grant Committee now being asked to <br />review guidelines that will be developed by consultants. Received update on Ms. <br />Feasels preparation of the "State of the County — Historic Preservation <br />Commission" annual report for 2016. <br />• 02/19/2016: Received and proof read "State. of the County — Historic <br />Preservation Commission" draft from Director Feasel and made a few <br />suggestions for changes and additional content. Director Feasel filed the report <br />with the County Commissioners by deadline and sent me a copy of the final <br />report. The final version is likely the most comprehensive annual summary ever <br />prepared for the County. My compliments to Ms. Feasel for her commitment to <br />task. <br />
