earthdesigns
bffisd A
Historic Preservation Commission of
South Bend & St. Joseph County
125 S. Lafayette Blvd.,
South Bend, IN 46601
Attention: Elicia Feasel
November 23, 2016
Re: Certificate of Appropriateness for J.C. Lauber Building, South Bend, IN 46617
Dear Elicia,
Enclosed please find a completed COA application which I would like the commission to review and
approve at its earliest convenience. I am hoping that the demolition as described in the application will
be performed in late April or early May 2017 just prior to restoration work on the J.C. Lauber Building
itself.
The J.C. Lauber Building improvements are being designed over the next few months and bidding is to
be conducted in March, 2017 with constrcution commencing in May if all goes according to plan.
The architect for the renovation will be Sanford Garner of the firm RG Collaborative. They will be
assisting me in all aspects of the plans and application approval process including submission to you as
well as Federal and State Preservation officials and State building officials.
Earth Designs is excited to begin the transformation which will result in an attractive and successful
adaptive reuse in a historically responsive manner.
Please let me know if you have any questions or if there is anything you would like to discuss. Thanks for
your time and assistance in getting this project off the ground.
Sincerely,
96"
Frank Perri
0
eaMdesigns
3617 McKinley Avenue, Post Office Box 148, South Bend, Indiana 46624-0148
