Director's Report <br />June 2015 <br />19 May Completed and mailed out all approved COAs from 18 June HPC meeting. <br />19-22 May Research, data input for SB 150 Building South Bend: Past, Present and Future. <br />Meeting at Bond Hall on 21 May for orientation on the iPad, iPhone by NDU plus Volunteer <br />Orientation by City. 22 May meeting with Adams Remco, Archives and Ian Alford, SJC IT, on <br />their Filebound project that would digitize files. <br />23 May SB150 9:30 -Noon at the Building South Bend tent. <br />25 May Office Closed for Memorial Day <br />26-29 May Contact with new Legal Counsel, Tony Zappia. Composed letters for Tim's <br />signature for vacant Commissioner positions. Developed a "resume" of the HPC for inclusion <br />with Sue Solmos' North Liberty's Stellar Community application. Completed the annual CLG <br />Reports for South Bend and St. Joseph County and emailed to Steve Kennedy at die DHPA in <br />Indianapolis. On-site inspection with Midwest Masonry, Russ Luchies of the exterior condition of <br />the limestone of the Third County Court House, the peeling paint at the 1855 Court House and <br />die spalling of the limestone faced of 125 S. Lafayette. He also reported that die limestone was <br />failing at the I&M Building on Colfax. I contacted Paul Phair of Holladay Corp and alerted hum to <br />die condition and potential danger to passers by if the limestone fell. Followed up with May Ellen <br />O Connell on the issues on West North Shore and copied her on e-mails to Eric Horvath, Toy <br />Villa and Carl Littrell. <br />1 June General Office work and data input for BSB/PPF. COA deadline day. <br />2 June Wrote Staff Reports for COA applications. 106 Reviews for DCI. Researched <br />missing data for BSB/PPF. <br />3 June Meeting at Conservatories about the Community Foundation Matching Grant for <br />the restoration of the lone surviving growing house in Potawatomie Park . Finished Staff Reports. <br />Data input for BSB/PPF. Inquiry from David Gotieb from Chicago about a Then and Now tour <br />for 20-30 architectural docents from Chicago, <br />4 June Worked on 2016 Budget Scenarios for Special Meeting on 12 June. Verified with <br />DCI that HPC would receive additional $5,000.00 in CDBG funding for 2016. Request from <br />Carolyn Pancliarian from Peachtree City, GA for research on family home at 820 W. Colfax <br />moved from 314 W. Marion in 1978 and the would like information on the Badet Mausoleum in <br />Riverview Cemetery.. <br />5 June Data input for BSB/PPF. Packets mailed to Commissioners. Meeting with Prof. <br />Schnabel at the Growing House as to feasibility of the grant monies achieving the restoration. First <br />Friday Then & Now tour for 22 people at 5:00. <br />8 June History Museum Finance Committee meeting; annual audit results by Cullar. <br />Continued with Data input and research. <br />9 June General Office and Data Input. <br />
