HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION
PRESERVATION SPECIALIST REPORT
December 21, 2015
Hello Commission!
As last month's weather continued this month, we have several roof repairs, tree
trimmings, and painting even so far as this past week. Although, I believe we may past
the time for painting, roofs and trees will be ongoing until the snow flies and remains.
There have been so many meetings in regards to next year's events and special projects
my head is spinning! These include the Bicentennial, the Studebaker Fountain committee,
the Park's Department master plan and even St' Joseph County parks 50th anniversary.
I am happy to report that the office reorganization project is continuing under Interim
Director Feasel's guidance and diligent efforts to streamline the layout and filing
systems. This is an exciting time to be a part of the office and I look forward to an even
better 2016!
As always, I would like to thank the Commission for yet another year of "other
contractual services." I feel that we have grown and have done concrete good work this
year. I think of all the property owners that have come to us for assistance and have
walked away educated and within the commission's approval. I am very proud of what
we do and look forward to doing even more in 2016.
To all, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
Thank you,
Steve Szaday
Preservation Specialist
