AGREEMENT <br />THIS AGREEMENT is made and entered into this_[[_ day of MAAA <br />2012, by and between the City of South Bend, Indiana, acting by andough the <br />Board of Public Works, hereinafter referred to as the "OWNER", and DLZ Indiana, LLC, <br />2211 East Jefferson Blvd., South Bend, IN 46615, hereinafter referred to as the <br />"ENGINEER" or "ARCHITECT". For this Agreement the terms "Engineer" and <br />"Architect" are used interchangeably. <br />WITNESSETH <br />WHEREAS, the OWNER desires to contract for the preparation of construction <br />documdnts for the South Bend Water Works North Pumping Station Roof Restoration; <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, the ENGINEER has expressed a'willingness to perform said design <br />services as set out in Appendix "A; and, <br />Y: <br />WHEREAS,"the parties hereto agree that said ENGINEER shall provide the <br />services and' documents, hereinbefore and hereinafter described, in relation to the <br />following described project: <br />The South Bend Water Works North Pumping Station located at 830 North <br />Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana is a historically significant building for <br />the City of South -Bend and is recognized by 'the -National Register for <br />Historic Places; Its historical. significance has also been recognized by <br />others, such as receipt of the ASCE Civil Engineering Historical Landmark <br />Award and the AWWA Water Landmark Award. <br />The exterior envelope of the building is in need of rehabilitation including <br />improvements to the existing clay tile roof system, the bituminous roofing <br />system, exterior brick and limestone masonry, and other components of the <br />exterior envelope. Following is a summary of the proposed scope of work for <br />this project. <br />• Clay Tile Roof: the clay the roof system includes approximately 5,500 <br />square feet of original clay tile. The proposed scope of work Includes the <br />following: <br />■ Careful removal, salvage, and cleaning of existing clay the roofing <br />system. <br />■ Removal of existing felt underlayment. <br />■ Inspection of the existing wood substrate. <br />■ Removal and replacement of all damaged or deteriorated wood <br />substrate. <br />North Pumping Station Roof Restoration <br />Page 3 of 12 <br />Agreement <br />May, 2012 <br />
