Director's Report <br />February, 2014 <br />3 February Prepared and mailed the approved COA for 711 Forest. Prepared the legal <br />notice for the 7 March Special meeting for the Studebaker -Railroad Corridor District. <br />Prepared and mailed the letters for the owners announcing the national register district and <br />included the informational materials. Send a letter to the Mayor on the District and will <br />follow up with draft for Mayor to the SHPO, Cameron F. Clark. <br />4 February Researched Jefferson Bridge and Howard Park walk balustrade for <br />Kathleen Pettijean. Researched Walnut Grove Housing Development for Jonathan Burke. <br />Met with WNIT Roger Chrastil about play he is writing for the Botanical Society of South <br />Bend: In the Dead of Winter. This will be a fund raiser. Followed up with information <br />on St. Joseph County on a request by Olivia Stone forwarded to HPC by the County <br />Commissioners and mailed it out. <br />5 February Additional research on Jefferson Street Bridge. Met with Eric Boyd owner <br />of landmarked Fire House #4 on his plans for die building and wrote a letter of support for <br />his application for a tax abatement. Mayor at Rotary. Met with Pam Meyer and Liz <br />Maradik on the new list of 106 houses and how to cull though them for deconstruction <br />candidates. Suggested starting with the 2005 Survey. I identified about 23 potential houses <br />from the survey. Liz and Pam said that Chris Fielding is looking for siding, windows and <br />wood flooring, which is not the indication that HPC Stall had. Also informed Pam that <br />HPC would not allow me to sign die agreement with the City until we meet with the Mayor. <br />6 February Completed deconstruction/Demo research and emailed Excel spread sheet <br />to Liz Maradik. Lori Timmer brought over the newly formatted forms for all 106 houses, <br />which I filled out except the deconstruction part. Completed 1 Lead Environmental 106 <br />Review for the City. Turned in payroll. <br />7 February General Office work. Director's Report for this week. Discussion with <br />Steve on the porch issue at 605 Portage: Rodney the Concrete Guy said that "stamping the <br />decking would create pools of water and make die surface dangerously slippery. Met with <br />Jim in Code for COA at 701 LWE fire damaged for demolition. Received 21 more <br />Environmental 106 Reviews from DCI. <br />10 February Participated in Finance Committee for NICH. Collected information for <br />County's Annual Report. Followed up on squatters at the Ambassadors for Christ Church, <br />Local Landmark with DTSB for their removal.. Aaron said that his people would be on <br />task. Spoke in favor of Eric Boyd's project at 1240 Thomas Street at the Common council <br />Committee meeting. Responded to Todd Zeiger's request for information on HPC role in <br />the Studebaker -Railroad Corridor District. <br />11 February Sick Day <br />
