The pine tree must stay-but the rest of your landscaping plan can proceed.
Hope all is well with you. Let me know if you have trouble opening any of the attachments.
Catherine
Director,
Historic Preservation Commission
of South Bend and St. Joseph
County, Indiana
574 235 9798
>>> > Brent Thompson < bthompso@southbendin.gov> 7/26/2013 3:04 AM >>>
>
Catherine
The white pine in the front yard looks ok. It may be included at the base of the tree but I wouldn't remove if it
was in a park or at my house. I may cable it so can't spit apart. Every tree will fall someday.
ht p-/Iw
t _Qt 2QQ31 gd r
_p g/ q q!YL!q s_/
Eq I n .. f
From: Catherine Hostetler [mailto:CHOSTETL@co.st-joseph.in.us]
Sent: Thursday, July 25, 2013 10:44 AM
To: Brent Thompson
Subject: 1013 E. Jefferson
Brent, Serena Howley wanted to remove the large pine tree (which is actually two trees growing together) in
her front yard and replace it with an ornamental tree-like a dogwood. The Commission would not approve this
because they felt that the tree was healthy and would only approve its removal if you said that it was decaying
or posed a threat to the house. 1013 E. Jefferson is a local landmark, Would you have time to check on this for
the Commission and e-mail me your thoughts?
Thank you,
Catherine
Director,
Historic Preservation Commission
of South Bend and St. Joseph
file://'CADocuments and Settings\Madlow\L-ocal Settings\Ternp\XPgrpwise61 F243D I SJC... 8/6/2013
