The walls are clapboard with shingled peaks. The cross gable roof is covered with asphalt shingles. There is a full width front porch with wood ionic columns, balustrade deck and dentilled frieze line. The windows are double hung sash with multi panes over one; some are 4/4 double hung. ALTERATIONS: The capitals on the porch columns are not original to the house. The rear flat roof, wood storm door on second floor and 7 first floor wood rear porch storm windows have been replaced in!" kind(COA2006-0830); in-kind lx6 cedar siding replacement throughout exterior as needed (COA2007- 0725) APPLICATION ITEMS: Reinstall iron railings from 1978. DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED PROJECT: . The homeowner er wishes to re -install the wrought iron hand railings on the front porch. These railings were discovered in the basement and are being refurbished. Recommended When enclosing porches for heat conservation or for other reasons, it should be done in a manner that does not alter the architectural or historical character of the building, Prohibited Front porches, stoops, patios and steps that are important to the building's style and development shall not be altered or removed; if in need of replacement, see above Required section. Not Recommended Original porch details should not be replaced with materials representing a different period or style from the original.
