Director's Report December 2012 20 November Attended 7:30 am Rotary Board Meeting to give the Foundation Report and to be updated on the Howard Park Centennial Project. Prepared and Mailed approved COAs. Discussion with Teresa Shuter concerning end of year funding issues and contradictory information in memos. Completed the National Register Nomination paperwork for North Liberty and mailed it to Holly Tate in Indy. Resolved an insurance issue with Huntington for Cyd diNardi Maravolo in Edgewater; new company's underwriters had reservations about "historic homes". Spoke with representative and sent link to website explaining about historic districts. 5:30 BSSB Events Committee meeting. 6:30 Green Drinks networking. 21 November General Office Work. Arranged a 4 December 10 am meeting with Mike Morin at BIS Digital. Pete Mullin suggested that he contact HPC about going into the Cloud with our meeting files. Completed three 106 Reviews. Ordered new digital camera, case and memory for Office. Inquiry for supplies not in County Catalogue. 22-25 November OFFICE CLOSED FOR THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY 26 November Arranged a 3 December meeting at 1:30 with Mayor Pete, Scott Ford and Katherine Roos to involve/integrate HPC in the development planning and projects of South Bend. Arranged meeting with Laura Moran Walton of the Community Foundation for 4 December. Toured the Birdsell Mansion, Local Landmark, with Steve M. of Mag Mile; a restaurant is currently looking at it as a venue. Discussed French Doors and Elevator placement. 27 November Attended County Commissioners' meeting for approval of year end in-line transfers. Attended the St. Joseph County Data Board meeting and commented on the need for creating an identifying icon for the Lows Tax System. John Carlson of GIS said that he had all of the data on GIS and would up -load it to Low's Property Tax System once the icon was created, so the costs will be limited to the icon's creation. Stall Meeting on the material to be covered and highlighted at the Mayor's meeting on Monday. 28 November Designed Icon for tax system and the information for the tab and gave to Steve Sneff. Marquette School National Register Nomination quandary about the age of the photographs from Holly Tate at DNR; Kurt had already resolved her other issues. Attended Visitor Bureau Partnership luncheon networked with Anna Thompson and Paul Van Ness from DeBartolo and distributed Historic Districts Brochure. Paul is from Chicago and looking for a home, so I suggested that he look at our LHDs. Attended the Michael Graves lecture at Bond Hall, the reception and was invited to the Banquet held in Mr. Graves honor. Mayor Pete, Scot Ford and Katherine Roos were also in attendance. Arranged to meeting with Lucian Stiles before 15 December to discuss Preservation Trades Program.
