Staff Review of the Nomination <br />Of 'the Haven Hubbard Home District <br />To the National Register of Historic Places <br />Historic Name of Property: Haven Hubbard Home <br />District Boundaries: Beginning at the northeast corner of the Haven <br />Hubbard Home property, on the west side of Chicago Trail, continue south in <br />a line on the west side of Chicago Trail approximately 1,300 feet to the north <br />edge of the driveway/south entrance to the property. Turn west and continue <br />in a line west approximately 500 feet with the edge of the driveway. Follow <br />the inside edge of the driveway as it turns north approximately 100 feet, then <br />west 150 feet, then north 100 feet, then east 150 feet (around the rear wing of <br />the building). Turn north and continue in a line north approximately 1,100 <br />feet to a line extended west from the point of beginning on the west edge of <br />Chicago Trail. Turn east and continue in a line east to the west edge of <br />Chicago Trail or the point of beginning. - <br />Date of Review: July 13, 2011 <br />Case History <br />Indiana Landmarks retained Partners in Preservation, Kurt W. Garner of <br />Plymouth, Indiana to prepare the National Register Nomination for the <br />Haven Hubbard Home District based on its historic and architectural <br />significance. The nomination was initially submitted to the DHPA for review <br />and comment. Upon realization that as a CLG the Historic Preservation <br />Commission of South Bend and St. Joseph County should first review the <br />nomination before further action by the DHPA, it was forwarded to the <br />Historic Preservation Commission for action. It has now been reviewed and <br />processed by the Staff of the Historic Preservation Commission and is now <br />formally submitted for action by the Historic Preservation Commission of <br />South Bend and St. Joseph County. <br />Criteria for Evaluation <br />In order to be considered eligible for inclusion in the National Register, an <br />historic property should be at least 50 years old and must be a possess local, <br />state, or national significance in relation to at least one of these following <br />criteria: <br />Criteria A is associated with the events that have made a significant <br />contribution to the broad patterns of our history; or <br />
