Wayne North is a two storey frame home with a <br />brick fagade and an irregular floor plan set on a matching brick foundation. There is a gable roof with <br />gable returns with cornice molding and an eyebrow dormer. The roofing is asphalt shingle. There is a <br />multi -pane half -round attic window. The windows are 8/1 and 6/1 double hung windows that have brick <br />soldier course lintels and brick header course sills; some with paneled wood shutters with a tree motif. <br />The front entry has gable roof with round arch under supported by brackets and smooth Doric columns; <br />the front door is rounded with simple wood trim. There is a one storey side open porch with a flat roof <br />supported by smooth Doric columns. <br />ALTERATIONS: There appears to be some window openings that were re -configured and bricked in. <br />The survey card noted aluminum storm windows and some replacement windows. The side porch is open <br />and no longer has screens noted in the August, 1986 survey card and were removed sometime after 1995. <br />There are COAs (2004-9) in file for in kind replacement and repair work to porch, in-kind window <br />replacement, garage roof and rear fencing. Removal of 1955 addition and replaced with new one storey <br />addition 12'8"x 30'8" in materials to match the original house. Replaced replacement casement windows <br />from 1955 re -model to match windows in the addition per COA 2009-0601D. Replacement and <br />restoration of the doors leading to the side porch from the living room; replacement of second floor door <br />leading to porch with COA #2010-0301 <br />APPLICATION ITEMS: Replacement of Windows: Dining Room window is missing and has been <br />bricked over, return to original style -stationary six light windows; replace eleven windows that have <br />combo aluminum storms with double hung 6/1 or 8/1 divided light; replace one replacement window with <br />more historically correct window. All windows will match rear window that was installed during addition <br />in 2009. Marvin brand windows will be used and the entire house will have the same windows. The <br />current combination storms were installed in the 1950s and are in horrible shape. The windows will <br />return the house to a closer approximation of the house as it was built. Photos included. <br />DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED PROJECT: Restore bricked opening of dining room window with <br />side by side (2) fixed 6 pane windows. Replace 11 windows that are over painted, over caulked some <br />with broken storm windows: 3 windows located in the front upstairs 2 8/1 and 16/1; 4 downstairs front <br />windows replace 2 double sets 6/1; West upper floor 16/1; rear 2 upper floor 6/1 and upper East 1 <br />original window 6/1; and replace one replacement window 6/1. All windows are Marvin Ultimate Double <br />Hung wood windows with true divided lights and replicate what is there. <br />STANDARDS AND GUIDELINES: East Wavne Street: <br />C. WINDOWS AND DOORS <br />Window and door frames are of wood or steel (some casements) or in the case of brick structures, stone sills and <br />prick lintels. Where metal or vinyl siding has been applied, window trim has been covered.
