Assistant Director's Resort HPC Meetina 03.21.2011 1. City Cemetery National Register Nomination -Researching early City Engineers. Continue editing. Prepare resource map. Editing photos and adding to body of research. Microfilm work at SJCPL. Working with City Clerks office to pull ordinances/resolutions from archives. Pulling Sanborn maps from digital source. Correspondence with Carolyn Strutner of DAR regarding her review of nomination and making some changes based on her review. Re -forward partial nomination to Commissioners for brief discussion during March meeting. 2. Attend 02.28.2011 HPC meeting, prepare draft of minutes and forward to Commissioners (this meeting was canceled due to lack of a quorum). Revise as requested. Print minutes from February meeting for March meeting. Print commissioner and liaison mailing labels. 3. Organizing conference room in office and resource center. Working on a plan to hire an intern for making the resource more useful to the public. Engage IUSB archivist/librarian Alison Stankrauff regarding an intern position. On March agenda for discussion. 4. RMS 2010-2011 Window Restoration Production -Develop letter to hardware stores and preservation groups in the Michiana area asking for participation ,to get the window message out there. Expand Michiana Area contacts. Develop marketing timeline and plan of attack. Correspondence with WNIT, Grassroots, and Todd Zeiger regarding uniformity of graphics, sounds, and fonts between the two videos. Calling on Public Relations and Community Education committee for relief. Meeting with Tim K. and Dave S. 5. RMS 2011 -Historic Wood Window Restoration Workshop with HNC: meeting with Dana Groves. Correspondence with Schoberg Restorations. Meeting at 122 W. Michigan Street, New Carlisle to assess windows for workshop. Follow up with Dana. Talk with Paul Hayden, email to Todd on what to charge (from Indiana Landmarks point of view). 6. Staff Reports -none 7. RME-60649 Hickory Road in-kind roof replacement. 8. 413 W. Navarre -prepare new owner packet, including survey card and Chapin Park LHD/NRHD Guidebook for Derek Dieter. 9. West North Shore Local Historic District -Attend neighborhood meeting at 129 West North Shore Drive on concerns of traffic calming, erosion control, tree replacement, and historic lighting. In attendance were representatives from 17 of the 20 houses in district, Gary Gilot and Carl Littrell of the City. 10. Research Minkler Hardware Store for a Notre Dame class and make copies of findings for student pickup at Office. 11. Street Naming project of Derek Dieters -Duplicate V.18 No.2 The Old Courthouse News: A Journal of Northern Indiana History for Derek. This journal has a publication titled: History Can Be Found On Every Street Corner by Joyce Armstrong -La Buda and is similar to a project Derek wants to see to fruition.
