Director's Report March 2011 28 ]February Worked on the East Wayne Street Tree map and wrote memo for presentation at HPC meeting. Began reorganizing the Conference Room files with Elicia. Contacted Commissioners to determine a quorum for HPC meeting. Attended 7:00 HPC Meeting; there was not a quorum. Rearranged the meeting scheduled for today with DaI1 Coy in East Wayne and LWE LHD for Thursday. 1 March Met with John Embrickson, St. Joseph County Engineer and Director ol'building maintenance concerning the proposed work on the 1897 County Court House. On-site visit and photographed representative area for gutter replacement also photographed t section of damaged gutter in the maintenance departincnt. Issued an RME COA for the in-kind work. Requested large recycling bin for Office for discarding duplicated and outdated materials. Researched the public sculpture for Roo Bosco of Media Ventures, Inc. for corrections or additions for their publication. Declined to be an interested party in the 106 Review for the Tyler Road Bridge #65. Arranged to meet with Aaron Getz in Edgewater LHD to review tree work proposed by AEP and Asplundh. Sorted through materials in Conference room. 2 March Met with Aaron Getz of AEP and Bill with Wayne. Toured the sites in Edgewater and noted the places where COAs would be required for removals. COAs not needed for trimming. Wayne and I photographed for Code violations the Following: 533 River a Truck parked in a public alleyway for over 2 weeks noted by Aaron Getz. 549 River has a broken attic window, peeling paint and a deterioratiIlg porclr cool. 709-711 LWE has been vandalized. No Trespassing sign is posted in the front but the rear has been broken into repeatedly and remains open. 705 LWE has a notice posted as well, but open access was noted on the second floor through a window and there was furniture discarded in the rear. Wayne had the roofers at 519 Edgewater conic to the Office for a RME COA for the roof they were tearing of and re -applying. Arranged a Special Meeting for Monday March 7 at .5:00; posted notices and made sure the legal would be in "Thursday's Tribune. Emailed all Commissioners, petitioners and presenters of the iic%v date aIld title. 3 March Spent the morning with Wayne and Dan Coy of Asplulldh Trees touring L. Wayne Street on foot to identify the trees proposed for removal and the afternoon in the Lincoln Way East district. Stiff attended Lunch and Learn at the Library on the History of' South Bend with Travis Childs. Spoke with Doreen Mesccar about repair and in-kind replacement wort: she proposed for 517 Edgewater; sent her COA loans. 4 March Prepared paperwork for the Tree Removals for Commissioner review oil Monday.
