Roof is a side gambrel with major <br />dormer along front, all covered in asphalt shingles. Porch features 4 heavy scaled Doric <br />columns supporting a simple eave of low slope porch roof. Front door is'a single leaf <br />glazed wood panel door with multi light side lights. Windows are 6/6 double hung. <br />There is a semicircular headed fan opening in attic gables. Basement windows are glass <br />block. <br />ALTERATIONS: Aluminum storm windows and door. Aluminum siding. Some <br />replacement windows. Replaced 2 rear (South) and 1 rear (East) windows with double <br />hung white windows 6/6 Marvin wood with exterior aluminum clad with COA 2010- <br />1206. <br />APPLICATION ITEMS: Replace all windows (not previously replaced) with same, <br />double hung wood with removable mutton strips. Thermal pane, high "E", Inserts. <br />DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED PROJECT: <br />The locations of proposed windows are 4 original front 6/6 double hung windows; the <br />three original 6/6 windows on each side of the house and the 2 6/6 windows on the <br />second floor of the rear. The existing windows have been restored 4 times within the last <br />40 years, are letting in cold air, and are not capable of another restoration, as stated by <br />homeowner. This was verified by Preservation Specialist, Wayne Doolittle in his report <br />and also by Charlie Kirkpatrick, Carpenter in his letter. Homeowner proposes to install <br />Kolbe Traditional window inserts that are wood with aluminum exterior cladding. The <br />insert windows will have same muntin (grille) pattern as existing windows. Grilles are <br />snap in from the interior and are removable. No wrap will be used on exterior. Existing <br />storm windows will remain on. Light visibility will decrease by approximately 1 inch on <br />each side. <br />EDGEWATER STANDARDS AND GUIDELINES:, <br />II. Brick structures have stone sills <br />and brick lintels; masonry block structures have masonry sills and lintels.
