Description of Project at 1414 E. Wayne Street
Owner: Drew Chuppe
Property: Aluminum sided wood frame home purchased in "as is"
condition has been painstakingly renovated at a cost of over
$100,000(see attachment re: renovations done). Aluminum siding done
by previous owner. Original wood storm windows removed by previous
owner. House currently has aluminum storm windows.
Fourteen(14) windows were replaced previously during renovation of
kitchen /half bath /attic. These replacement windows are aluminum
clad(white) exterior and have muntins(simulated true divided light with
spacer bar) that replicate originals.
Owner wishes to replace remaining fourteen(14) windows with
Marvin ultimate .aluminum clad(exterior white) double hung windows
with simulated true divided light with spacer bars. Muntin pattern will
match original(4X2 panes per sash on lower windows and 3X2 panes
per sash on upper windows). Note that 5 of the 14 remaining windows
to be replaced already have a sash that was replaced with one large
pane of glass with no muntins such that they do not match the rest of
the original house windows.
Reasons for replacing the windows described above:
- Current remaining windows are in bad repair. Pulls are broken. Original
hardware is gone. Windows are drafty. Muntins are chipped and
damaged and were partially restored years back requiring hours and
hours of work with a poor cosmetic result. Some windows require
propping open which is a safety issue with children in the house. Other
