STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the proposed changes. The homeowners are restoring the siding on the east side of the house by removing the glass block windows. The proposed wood double hung window replacements are more appropriate to the style of the house than the current jalousie windows. The removal of the non —original door on the north side is at the rear of the house and its replacement with a window will contribute to the rhythm of the windows in enclosed porch. On a motion by David Steinhauer with a second by Linda Riley COA #2010-0907 was amended to include a complete tear off of the 3 tab asphalt shingles on the roof and the installation of architectural asphalt shingles with a unanimous vote 7-0. On a motion by David Steinhauer with a second by Sandy Rossow COA#2010-0907 as amended was unanimously approved by the Commissioners 7-0. DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED PROJECT: The Schohl's are proposing to demolish the house that their family has owned for more than 50 years. The property is currently a multi -family unit that they rent out. The attached note from the owner states that "over the last 40 years there has been constant water problems causing the foundation to settle, mold, mildew, and rusting of metal support beams."
