Lafayette <br />South Bend, IN 46601-1830 Fax 574 235 9578 <br />PRESERVATION <br />COMMISSION <br />ROUNTINE MATINENANCE EXCLUSION <br />ADDRESS: 834 Forest <br />DISTRICT: Chapin Park <br />RATING: Contributing Hannan House Gable -front 1899 <br />PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Re -Roof <br />DATE: 5 March 2010 <br />COMMUNICATION METHOD: In Office visit from Mike Ramey, Contractor: what needed to be done for a <br />staff approval. <br />STAFF ON-SITE VISIT AND/ OR DOCUMENTATION: Staff explained process, roof must be in-kind for Staff <br />approval; must be 3 -tab asphalt shingle in this case and Staff must visit sight. <br />DATE: 9 March 2010 <br />COMMUNICATION METHOD: In person Office visit with Mike Ramey followed by on -sight inspection by <br />Wayne Doolittle and Catherine Hostetler with Mike Ramey and his personnel. <br />STAFF ON-SITE VISIT AND/OR DOCUMENTATION: Staff photographed site. Roof in a very bad state of <br />disrepair with rotting in some spots, along with some wood trim pieces, due to age, wear from over head tree <br />limbs, and lack of guttering. New roof would be Owens Coming 20 year Classic 3 Tab asphalt shingles which <br />duplicates the current roof. Sample of material provided. Staff cautioned Contractor about the condition of the <br />moulding and that any replacement pieces would need to be evaluated by staff to determine if a Commission <br />hearing would be necessary. Mike Ramey said he would renew his bond and apply for the Staff Approved <br />COA. <br />
