Director's Report <br />June 2010 <br />May 17 Meeting with Chuck Bulot on Shefineyer property on St. Louis and <br />Jefferson. Spoke with Pam Florey and arranged to visit on COA proposal. HPC monthly <br />meeting. <br />May 18 Onsite visit to Ron and Pam Florey's home at 1336 E. Wayne S. about <br />brick porch repair and the brick paver replacement of their concrete walkway. On site visit <br />through Riverside Drive LHD concerning the size of the "Share the Road" signs. On site <br />visit with Jeff Dierbeck, Wayne and homeowner of 712 Forest concerning the privacy <br />fence. Requested that Cal -Pro stop work and get a COA and building permit for fence <br />replacement at 714 Forest. They complied. Arranged for a Special HPC Meeting for <br />Monday, 24 May, to review COA 2010-05031); posted notices and notified SBT for legal <br />publication. Met with Laura Moranand Wayne about proposed acquisition <br />strategies for 609 Riverside Drive and referred to contractors for realistic estimates for work <br />proposed. <br />May 19 Attended the ground breaking for East Bank Townhomes developed by <br />David Matthews on the old Rink site. Prepared and mailed out all approved COAs to <br />homeowners. Research on Oliver Park/Playground <br />May 20 Contacted Mr. Santos Fernandez concerning his tabled COA# 2010-0414 <br />to sign waiver; if he does not sign we must hold a special meeting on or before 11 June <br />since his 60 day falls on Sunday, 13 June. He said that he would make the Office his first <br />stop around 9:00 Friday 21 May. Walking tour of Edgewater Place LHD with Elicia <br />Dadlow noted that house at 521 River needed extensive exterior rehabilitation. <br />May 21 Office Payroll; contacted Patty Godsey concerning lack of accumulated and <br />available personal days and sick days on Elicia's pay stub. Mr. Fernandez was not at the <br />Office Friday morning to sign the waiver. Reviewed St. Joseph County's Family Leave <br />Policy in anticipation of Elicia's maternity leave. <br />May 22 Participated in Rotary's "Done In A Day" project for DTSB by planting <br />flowers and plants in the various planters, boxes and beds in downtown South Bend. <br />May 23 Attended the dedication and grand opening of the Natatorium as a Civil <br />Rights Center. Met with Mayor and various City and IUSB officials. Also met with Chuck <br />Simon and discussed Rose Hill Cemetery and the need for fence repair: met with James <br />Mullins former resident of W. Washington Street and IUSB Librarian and discussed the <br />vast improvements to the neighborhood since he and Kathy moved. <br />May 24 Attended a Special Meeting of the HPC for reconsideration of COA 2010- <br />0503D for a privacy fence at 712 Forest; a six foot privacy fence with gates was approved. <br />
